INTERVIEWER: Moving on, congratulations on the Best Actor award!

HUGH gives the interviewer a shy smile. He takes a sip of the coffee in his hands: Thanks. I was so surprised. I didn't think people enjoyed my performance that much.

INTERVIEWER: Well I guess you were proven wrong. How do you feel about following in your mother's footsteps, instead of racing like your father?

HUGH pauses before speaking: I suppose...I sometimes wonder if I would be suited for it. If I could've done more. At the end of the day, acting feels like keeping my mother's legacy. Many people remember her as my dad's wife, or just a songwriter. She went into acting because she loved it. I just wish she was more recognized for it.

[ There is a moment of silence as Hugh plays with the cup in his hands. ]

INTERVIEWER: I know your acceptance speech brought quite a few people to tears. It was very moving.

HUGH nods: I didn't mean to. I just wanted to thank my mom one more time. And my dad, too.

INTERVIEWER: It was a good kind of tears, I'm sure.

HUGH laughs.

INTERVIEWER: Which of your mother's songs is your favorite?

HUGH: Well, my dad used to try singing "terrible things" to me. He's not a great singer, so emphasis on the try.

INTERVIEWER: If I'm not wrong, the song does say "now son, I'm only telling you this because life does terrible things." Is it like a message to you?

HUGH: Yeah. I know the song is about how hard love is and how painful it is. But she did it anyway. What's my excuse? Life is short and there's so much to experience.

INTERVIEWER is handed a note. THEIR eyebrows furrow, looking at HUGH: Sorry, would you be comfortable answering a question about your dad? I know you only agreed to talking about Y/N. We can cut this part out if you mind.

HUGH shakes his head: No, it's quite alright. What was the question?

INTERVIEWER: Well, your father hasn't made any public appearances save for your Academy Award win. It's been many years...would he like to pass on a message?

HUGH: Oh, my dad loves to talk. Let me think. He's old, you know that. I think he enjoys the quiet life. He wouldn't survive in an F1 car nowadays, but he still enjoys driving.

[ HUGH thinks. The INTERVIEWER doesn't prompt him. ]

3. Clothing that is only available for teens. This should’ve been something that was carried on from TS2

4. Obviously bands. Or really just instruments in general

5. Cars. Idc if they can actually drive but we have driveways and they’re useless.

6. Elder specific clothing. Again, should’ve been carried on from TS2

7. Special activities for toddlers. Sims team hates toddlers for some reason I will never understand.

8. Extended family. My Sims should not be able to date their immediate cousin

9. MORE UNIVERSITY MAJORS and add minors.

10. Again more jobs that go along with uni majors and part time jobs. Make the vet career active, I don’t want to own a business all the time.

How about a reaction from the Chain to a witch Reader, but in a Harry Potter style?

Reader, in addition to being scared at first, would undoubtedly be confused by the blatant display of magic without punishment. It doesn’t help that she quickly mistakes and identifies Twilight as an Animagus after seeing Wolfie just once. It would definitely lead to an interesting conversation where Reader reveals herself as a witch and explains how, in her world, the Statute of Secrecy exists, along with the reasons it was created.

The Chain would be horrified not by the massive concealment of magic itself, but by the reasons behind it, with the main one being the indiscriminate hunting of magical beings.

Hey, I'm back baby! After a while on vacation and having to deal with the return of my classes, I was finally able to organize myself to return fully, I hope. But hey, I'm sorry for the huge delay with the requests, and happy new year to everyone, considering that this is my first post of the year!

Oh, thanks for the request, I really love crossovers, and I love Harry Potter!

I’ve been here for a few weeks, traveling with this group of men who claim to be heroes of the realm, or something like that. I’m not sure how I ended up here, but it was obvious that this was a different world from mine. For starters, the humans here have pointy ears, like elves. Okay, I can deal with that. And then there are other races, which I’ve never seen anything like in my world. I mean, a race of stone men, seriously? Not to mention the totally different monsters. 

But none of these things surprised me as much as the lack of care with the exposure of magic. Everyone, even the supposed “muggles” who don’t have magic, are fully aware of its existence. It’s natural, it’s normal. But it’s also strange that they don’t have any organ that regulates its use, considering how much it is used. 

From what I could see, one of my traveling companions, who took me in for some reason when I fell on top of them after passing through a strange portal, has magic and uses it medicinally.  I don’t know if the others can do things like that, but from what I’ve noticed, most of them have some object that has some magical property and makes things easier. That boy with the rings – I think his nickname was Legend – has one for every situation. 

Well, okay, I know they’re all called Link, confusing, even more confusing when I found out they’re from different timelines. Is temporal magic really that normalized around here? I’ve only been with them for a short time, and I still find it hard to associate them with their nicknames, because not only are they all blond with blue eyes, which doesn’t help much, but each one seems to have about three different nicknames, and each one is weirder than the last. 

Okay, I’m in a different world, where magic is common and doesn’t need to be hidden. I’m traveling with a group of heroes from different eras who consider themselves brothers, and are, from what I can understand, reincarnations... so why are they acting like this wolf that appeared is some kind of pet? 

— Soooo... you know that this wolf is one of you transformed, right? – I ventured to say. 

Everyone’s eyes turned to me, surprised. They didn’t know? Seriously? They looked at each other momentarily before someone finally answered me. 

— Well, we do know, but how do you know? – The long-haired hero spoke, the Cook, if I’m not mistaken.  

— And how could you not know? It couldn’t be more obvious, I mean, even the markings on his face are the same as the wolf’s, they’re never seen together in the same place, and, to tell the truth, Twilight kind of smells like dog. It’s pretty obvious that he’s an Animagus.  

— Animagus? Huh, Wolfie, are you that thing she said? – The youngest of the group spoke, and the wolf just tilted his head in confusion.  

— Oh, great, it takes her three minutes to figure that out while eight heroes took months to do the same. – Legend complained.  

— Speak for yourself, I knew from the beginning!  

So, they already knew about it, and were just pretending so I wouldn’t find out? Strange people.  

 While the others debated who had been the first to find out about Wolfie, he retransformed, without having to worry about hiding his secret, and approached me, visibly confused and curious. 

— So, in your world, it’s normal for people to turn into animals? 

— I wouldn’t say it’s common, but it’s possible, and all wizards know about it. 

— Wizards? What about people without magic, don’t they know? – The hero with magic joined the conversation, visibly curious. 

— No, of course not. We can’t let the Muggles find out about magic! 

— Muggles? – The little boy asked, interested in the way I called the non-magic users. 

— They’re the non-wizards, we keep magic hidden from them, or else we’d go to war... it’s very dangerous, that’s why the Ministry of Magic exists, to make sure wizards don’t reveal themselves. 

— For Hylia, your world is confusing. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to live in a society as segregated as this one... – I heard the comment coming from one of the quieter boys, the one called Sky. 

 — Yes, well, but it is necessary, or else wizards would still be burned at the stake for using magic to this day. 

— WHAT?! – Everyone gasped as they heard my last statement, shocked by the brutal concept. Oh man, I think this conversation will go on for much longer than I had imagined.

Madney House Floor Plan

If you saw my post yesterday with a less complete version of this floor plan, no you didn't 😅. Big thank you to @chuwungjae, who kindly pointed me toward a scene I missed that really solidified things! Anyway, a lovely anon asked me to offer my two cents on the layout of the Madney house, so I threw together this basic floor plan. Anon, I hope you see this!

Here we go! This is based on everything through 8a. Blue is interior spaces. Green is exterior spaces. Fuchsia is stuff I couldn't find a good shot of or haven't seen at all and am therefore not sure about.

Look below the cut for further discussion of things. However, I'm doing this post "lazy style", so I won't be providing screen shots to back up anything I'm saying. You'll just have to trust me, sorry.

One thing I feel is important to note is that this house has only ever been a set and is designed as a set and doesn't make sense as an actual house. The set doesn't match the brief exterior shots of the murder house in its introductory episode and also doesn't match typical US suburban building codes as far as aesthetics are concerned, since no part of the house is really designed as the "front" that would normally face the street.

Anyway! The entry leads into the living room. The living room leads into the dining. The dining leads into the kitchen. Off the kitchen is the courtyard.

The hallway up from the kitchen goes to the bedrooms. Jee's shares walls with the living and kitchen. Maddie and Chim's bedroom is at the end of the hall and looks out onto the courtyard. I caught a glimpse of what looks like a night stand that leads me to believe this is how their bed is situated in the room, but I'm not 100% on it. However, the bed being between two windows is accurate. No idea what's happening with that far wall. Maybe a closet? Maybe caught a glimpse of a dresser through the courtyard doors? idk.

I'm nearly positive they embiggened the courtyard for the hot tub plot. Also, the kitchen island has reversed sides at least once. I think those are the only little weirdnesses I noticed though.

Since there's no indication of a bathroom toward the top of the plan, I'm pretty sure the door off the bottom of the kitchen is the bathroom. But that's fully a guess on my part. I have nothing to back this up.

There's also a door off the bottom of the courtyard. No idea where that goes either. Maybe garage? Storage? Water heater and other utility?

I'm pretty sure the doors in the entryway are a closet, but I never caught them open to confirm. The door in the dining room has been shown open and is a coat closet.

The fluorescent lights of the FBI headquarters buzzed softly overhead as you stood in the lobby, waiting for the elevator. Your foot tapped nervously against the polished floor.

Today was your first day at the Behavioral Analysis Unit, and despite all your preparation, the nerves were getting the best of you.  

You glanced at your reflection in the shiny elevator doors—your outfit was professional, your hair was neatly styled, and your badge was clipped securely to your belt. But your nerves were still getting the best of you.

You reached into your bag and pulled out your headphones, slipping them over your ears.

As soon as you hit play, the opening notes of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata filled your ears. The soft, melancholic melody was like a balm to your nerves.

Your foot slowed its tapping, gradually falling into sync with the rhythm of the music. You closed your eyes for a moment, letting the music wash over you. 

The soft ding of the elevator arriving pulled you from your thoughts. You opened your eyes just as the doors slid open.

You stepped inside, pressing the button for the floor of the BAU. As the doors began to close, a hand shot out, stopping them.

You looked up to see a tall man stepping into the elevator with you. His dark hair was a little messy , his tie slightly askew, and he carried a worn leather satchel slung over one shoulder.

Your eyes met for a brief moment, and he offered you a small, polite smile. You returned it, though you were sure yours looked more nervous than friendly. He stood beside you, his hands clasped in front of him, and the elevator doors closed with a soft whoosh. 

He glanced at you from the side, his hazel eyes curious. You caught his gaze and smiled awkwardly, unsure of what to say.

He opened his mouth to speak, and you saw his lips move, but the sound was muffled by the music still playing in your headphones. Quickly, you pulled them off, letting them rest around your neck. 

“Sorry?” you asked, your voice soft as you smiled at him apologetically. 

“I said I enjoy Beethoven too,” Spencer repeated, his voice slightly higher than before, as if he wasn’t entirely comfortable initiating conversation. He adjusted the strap of his satchel bag, his fingers fidgeting nervously. 

“Really?” you asked, your interest piqued as you turned to face him more fully. “Not a lot of people I know listen to classical music.” 

“Yeah,” he nodded, meeting your eyes briefly before looking away again. “It’s… complex. I like that. It gives my brain something to focus on.” 

You smiled. “Same here. It calms me down,” you admitted, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “Especially on days like today. It’s actually my first day.” 

Before Spencer could respond, a loud ding echoed through the elevator, signaling that you’d reached your floor.  

The doors slid open, and the two of you stepped out into the hallway. You paused in front of the elevator, the doors closing behind you as you turned to face him. 

“Oh, really? What department?” Spencer asked, his tone curious as he shifted his satchel strap on his shoulder. 

“The BAU,” you replied, meeting his hazel eyes again. You couldn’t help but notice how they seemed to light up at your answer. 

“The BAU?” he repeated, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “That’s… that’s my department too.” 

“Really?” you said, your eyes widening in surprise. “What are the odds?” 

Spencer chuckled softly, his nervousness seeming to ease a little. “Yeah, I guess it’s a small world. Or, uh, a small building, at least.” He paused, then added, “I can show you around, if you’d like. The BAU can be a little overwhelming on your first day.” 

You felt a wave of relief wash over you. “That would be amazing,” you said, your smile widening. “I was kind of dreading trying to figure everything out on my own.” 

“It’s no problem,” Spencer said, his voice warm. “I remember my first day. I was… well, let’s just say it wasn’t exactly perfect.” 

You laughed softly, feeling less nervous than you did 5 minutes ago. “I find that hard to believe. You seem like you’ve got it all together.” 

He shook his head, a faint blush creeping up his neck. “Trust me, I didn’t. But you’ll be fine. The team’s great. They’ll make you feel at home.” 

As the two of you walked down the hallway together, Spencer began pointing out different rooms and explaining their purposes. His voice was calm and gentle, and you found yourself hanging onto his every word.

“This is the bullpen,” he said, gesturing to the open area filled with desks and computers. “It’s where we do most of our work. Hotch—our unit chief—has his office over there, and the conference room is just down the hall.” 

You nodded, taking it all in. “It’s… bigger than I expected,” you admitted, feeling a little overwhelmed by the sheer size of the space. 

“It can feel that way at first,” Spencer said, his tone reassuring. “But you’ll get used to it. And like I said, the team’s great. They’ll help you settle in.” 

You smiled, feeling a little more at ease. “Thank you. I really appreciate this.” 

He returned your smile, his eyes softening. “Anytime. Welcome to the BAU.”

Fadel/Style "One-Shot" (or probably longer 🙄) Idea

Impulsive one-shot idea that I should not start because I am that person with 59496492 WIPs. But here is the general idea:

Three years into Fadel's and Bison's sentence, their relationships with Style and Kant are still surprisingly strong. Style and Kant visit every Wednesday, volunteer on Saturdays and Sundays, and write and send packages so often that they rarely come back to their cell empty handed when the mail arrives. It's hard, but they are past the halfway point and this is finally starting to feel doable.

And then - on visiting day - Style doesn't show up. Fadel doesn't get called back to the visitation room like he always does. Bison does, but Fadel is left alone. He tries his best to not be upset. He has told Style countless times he does not have to come every single visiting day, especially now that he's volunteering. But it's the first day he has ever missed and he never even gave Fadel a head's up. When Bison comes back, he just says that Kant told him Style isn't feeling well and that he's very sorry he couldn't be here. That worries Fadel enough and makes him feel guilty. He spends the rest of the week beating himself up over not being able to tend to Style while he gets over a virus. He's hoping that Style will call. That way, Fadel can let him know to just take it easy until he is completely better and to not feel guilty if he can't visit until that happens.

But he doesn't call. When Fadel gets a turn with the phone, Style doesn't answer. He tries again the following day with the same result. He tries not to assume the worst. Style is sick, so maybe he just isn't up for talking. He just wishes Style would tell him that, even if it is croaked out and they aren't on the phone for more than thirty seconds. Fadel would take it, because he is now jumping to other conclusions.

Maybe Style met someone else. Fadel always told him he could and that he would understand. That always resulted in Style throwing a fit and calling and writing even more, just to tell Fadel off for undermining his love and devotion. Sometimes, Fadel will get multiple letters in one day when Style is riled up like that. He finally got to a point where he understands that Style isn't going anywhere.

But if he isn't answering Fadel's calls, maybe that has changed.

When Saturday comes along and Kant arrives to volunteer, Style is nowhere in sight. Since he can't talk to Style, he corners Kant. He does his best to be reasonable. He even tells Kant he won't be mad if Style found someone else. He just needs to know so he isn't left wondering.

Kant doesn't tell him much of anything. All he does is look at Fadel sadly and hand him a letter. As soon as Fadel finds a private area so he can read it and not become targeted if he bursts into tears, he's glad that he did. It's a single page, just one, long paragraph. He's used to Style writing at least three pages front and back. But he still gets his point across.

I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia last week. Same as my ma. My 5 year survival rate is about 30%. I am in the hospital now, but I will come back as soon as I am out if you still want to see me. If you don't, I completely understand. I'm sorry I'm not telling you in person, and I'm sorry I didn't answer the phone. It just isn't looking good, and I didn't know how to say it without trying to make light of it. That pisses Pa off, and I figured it would piss you off too. I don't know when I will be discharged. I also don't know when I will lose my hair. Probably soon. Fuck. (I saw this, went "how the fuck did I miss this" and got very excited someone asked for reasons you shall see below in the next paragraph had a bunch of idea, did some stuff, had a bunch of cool ideas, wrote the first paragraph of this, then took a hot bath and had a bunch of really cool and in depth ideas of how to explain this while in it, so now it's time to see how much of the shit I wanted to say that i actually remember).

She does actually, so does the son. Diana and Mirian Curze respectively. But their names might be changed. "Mirian" was no joke based on some "Mirian" and "mink" and a mink theme I mentioned here (<- central post to the lore btw, check out the farm au tag) that was since completely abandoned (everything else in that post is still canon) but he's been mentally named "Miran" in my head so long it stuck and I have thought of some others but they never clicked, even if I kinda hate it. That's why he's currently tagged as "the curzeling" because I have no idea wtf to refer to him as. And "Diana" is up there with "Rose" and "Maria" as cliche names for kind gentle characters female characters who tend to be dead moms or shadow the hedgehogs maria (No, Diana here does not die) alongside just not sounding very warhammery. Her maiden name is currently Diana Ignis but I can't decide if it's cringe. The reason I haven't talked more about them is that I am ironically the kind of person who hates ocs. As in, filter the original character tag out when searching on ao3 hates ocs. Though I tend to tolerate them sometimes. So it's a mixture of having cultivated an audience of x reader fans and the like, insecurity of while I know others do like OC content I wanted to create something that some hypothetical other person who thinks like me would have clicked on in the first place. Though I cope by telling myself I tend to tolerate them more when they fulfil some sort of function, eg, "what if this character met this kind of person" rather than just "canon character x oc" which tends to make me do a U-turn. and I sorta hope I would appeal to some other version of myself with that. You should also really check out the "core" tag on this blog if you haven't already as it deals with stuff that is "canon" to this narrative (Once I start posting about other ocs I'm not actually sure if they should share the tag too, maybe I should rename it then, oh well.)

Now before we progress further some meta knowledge is required: The farm post summer last year was sort of the genesis point of this au and actually it was really a now deleted response to that from a deleted blog where it started but this is the original ask. All of this stuff originated from hurt comfort and me initially rping stuff with chatbots then mentally adding way more lore onto it (hence the farm post) I actually have/had issues with Dianas characterization. I read a bit of the fic messages for dad (in which Konrad is paired with a woman named Julia) and I also have an oc for Dorns wife named Falke, (whose name also needs to be changed because "Falke" is a default name I use for myself as self insert characters and she grew a plot, but that's besides the point) and I straight up think messages for dad's Julia and my Dorn wife (of all people lol) were more interesting characters to pair Konrad with than the initial creation of Diana was (but she got better). This right here is ironically fanwork to the messages for dad fanfic but it perfectly describes why I love Julia as a wife for Konrad, and without spoiling too much my Dorn wife (who herself is in an "opposites attract" style relationship with Rogal) is someone with an anarchistic streak, immense curiosity and who is neither pro imperium nor pro chaos. Something which would sync really well with the nightlords (Konrad is canonically very curios. and Magnus and Perturabo are actually friends in canon and also bonded over curiosity). Both of these women are people who relate to Konrad "as a person" if it makes sense. His actual personality beyond just the insanity and trauma. Diana was a generic moeblob created to synergize with Konrard when he was broken (Oh the tragic irony that would be someone helping Konrad heal only for the man who came out on the other side be someone who they did not feel attracted to or someone who did not feel attracted to them. But that makes me sad so it won't happen here because I'm a sap. Diana and Konrad love each other forever in the au where they're together.). Genereic precious cinnamon roll generic ray of sunshine x edgelord. I am once again reminded of Shadow the hedgehog and Maria. So I am desperately trying to give her more personality and actually make her more compatible with Konrad long term without making her a Falke clone. I complained about this half a year to a year ago, I think it's improved. Though the cliche is still there.

Now moving on to the questions.
